Beautiful little island where the temperature rarely drops below 25C all year

A beautiful island located in the Caribbean boasts of a picturesque coastline, wooden shacks and bottled green hills.

Bequia, half an hour by air from Barbados, is a prized dot in the archipelago nation of St Vincent and the Grenadines, which includes billionaire hideaway Canouan and celebrity magnet Mustique.

It is the largest island in the Grenadines at seven quare miles. The weather in the island stays between 25-29C during December making it a perfect place for winter vacation.

It is part of the country of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and is approximately 15 kilometres from the nation’s capital, Kingstown, on the main island, Saint Vincent. Bequia means “island of the clouds” in the ancient Arawak.

Bequia, pronounced “Beck-way”, is blessed with white sandy beaches, coral reefs, and friendly people. Port Elizabeth is a bustling yachting town. And the temperatures rarely drops below 25C at any point in the year.

Those visiting the island can enjoy yachting, scuba diving, and snorkeling over coral reefs. 

There are plenty of restaurants on Bequia to be explored. While the eat out places tend to be small, but are filled with friendly locals. 

One can try “goat water” soup and Hairoun the local brew.

Follow the Vermont Nature Trail and experience the spectacle of more than 500 parrots in flight. Numerous endemic species make this trail their home. 

Take a stroll along a scenic coastal path and take pleasure in the numerous waterfalls or hike to Fort Charlotte and be amazed by the views. Challenge yourself by a climbing the Soufriere volcano.

The island is quite popular among the tourist who have shared wonderful reviews on TripAdvisor.

One user wrote: “This was one of our favourite areas to relax and soak up the sun. Stunning sand and beautiful water for swimming in. Grab a cold beer from one of the local beach bars and take a dip.”

Another user commented: “Visited this beach whilst on a cruise. We had a tender to the small port area and then walked the beach side path around to the beach. Lots of small restaurants and bars on the walkway. Beach was beautiful with a few bars and lots of locals selling drinks. The sea was quite rough and we saw many people been knocked over by the waves just walking the shore line. We had a great time.”
