Triggering more than two dozen yellow weather warnings and amber \u201cdanger to life\u201d warnings.<\/p>\n<p>Forecasters said gusts of 98mph could hit the Channel Islands on Wednesday. It is similar to how tornadoes form. Funnel clouds only develop into a tornado once they reach Earth or a body of water, known as a waterspout. In Deal, Kent, resident John Sheridan managed to catch it on camera. Speaking to KentOnline, he said: \u201cIt was still a funnel cloud when I first saw it, but it touched down for around a minute. Kate Marks, flood duty manager at the Environment Agency, said \u201csignificant flooding\u201d was possible.<\/p>\n<p>We advise people to stay away from swollen rivers and urge people not to drive through flood water as just 30cm (1ft) of flowing water is enough to move your car,\u201d she said.
