McDonald’s in Istanbul attacked by protesters after IDF promise

This is the moment Pro-Palestinian activists vandalised a McDonald’s restaurant in Istanbul.

The activists descended on the Israeli branch of the fast food chain after it was it had been supplying complimentary meals to the Israeli military.

McDonald’s involvement in providing free food to the Israeli army has sparked outcry amongst pro-Palestinian activists.

In Turkey, public outrage boiled over as pro-Palestinian demonstrators targeted a branch in Istanbul, vandalising the establishment as Israel carried out missile strikes in the Gaza Strip in response to Hamas’ atrocities on October 7 that left at least 1,400 Israelis dead.

The activists repeatedly smashed the front doors of the McDonald’s branch with tables and chairs.

They repeatedly kicked the doors in until the glass eventually gave way, sending shards flying onto the street.

Local authorities have condemned the act of vandalism and are investigating the incident.

They emphasised the importance of peaceful protests in addressing such issues.

The riotous scenes come as the war in Gaza risks a wider conflagration in the Middle East.

Iranian-backed terror group Hezbollah has threatened to go to war with Israel if it does not stop its retaliatory attacks in the besieged enclave.

And Israeli warplanes struck targets across Gaza early Monday, including in areas where Palestinian civilians have been told to seek refuge after another small aid shipment was allowed into the besieged Hamas-ruled territory.

Israel has still not allowed any fuel to enter Gaza, where there has been a power blackout for nearly two weeks.
