Kate Middleton has left royal fans worried after she was spotted wearing a bandage on her hand.

The Princess of Wales, 41, paid a visit to HMP High Down, a Category C men's prison in Surrey today (Tuesday, September 12) but raised alarm bells as her fingers could be seen bound together.

The concern prompted Kensington Palace to issue a statement confirming the future Queen had sustained a "small injury, nothing serious" while exercising on a trampoline.

It was also confirmed the royal's fingers were not broken.

Kate has discussed her love of fitness in the past and said she uses the trampoline to stay healthy.

Back in January, she revealed: "Whenever I can squeeze in exercise I do, even jumping on the trampoline with my children before school."

Royal fans were quick to respond to the images, taking to X (formerly Twitter) to share their well-wishes.

One social media user wrote: "I'm glad it wasn't serious," while another chimed in: "And she still has a smile on her face, looking as classy as ever."

"Stunning Princess," a third added, followed by a heart emoji.

During Kate's visit to the prison she saw how inmates are being supported to recover from addiction by the charity The Forward Trust, of which she is a patron.

Shadowing a visiting family, Kate heard about the work the organisation does to support inmates during their time at the jail and spoke with some of the lags currently staying there.

She even stopped in the prison's on-site gourmet restaurant, The Clink, which trains inmates in the skills needed to join the hospitality sector.

The visit comes ahead of Addiction Awareness Week, which will run from October 28 to November 4, this year with the theme "Everybody Knows Somebody".

The public has seen a lot of Kate recently after she and husband Prince William were spotted at St David's Cathedral in Wales on Friday (September 8) for a special service marking the death of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II.

Meanwhile, King Charles attended prayers at Crathie Kirk and Prince Harry, who was in the UK for the WellChild awards, made a private trip to see his grandmother's grave.
