A woman was stripped topless and forced to do a walk of shame in front of a baying crowd in Indonesian in scenes that chillingly mirror those found in an episode of Game of Thrones.
Local authorities in West Sumatra are investigating after footage emerged showing a bare breasted woman being forced to perform a walk of shame in front of a mob which included children.
She was paraded through the streets of Pasaman with men taking action to prevent her from covering her breasts.
Footage showed the woman attempting to pull up her lower garments high enough to cover her chest, however a man pulled them back down again.
Local reports suggest the woman was being punished by villagers for becoming intimate with a man out of wedlock.
West Sumatra Police said the incident occurred on 30 August.
West Sumatra Police spokesman Stefanus Satake Bayu Setianto told Lipton 6 News: “The woman in the video was busted by residents for committing an obscene act.”
He confirmed that police where investigating the incident and were trying to trace the original creator of the video – which has since been pulled from YouTube but is circulating via chat apps.

The officer warned that the individual who filmed the incident could face charges of violations of the Information and Electronic Transactions Act (UU ITE).
Meanwhile, the Commission on Violence Against Women (Komnas Perempuan) has called for the crowd to be criminally charged as well following the public shaming.
Komnas Perempuan commissioner Siti Aminah told Detik News in Jakarta: “The people who paraded her should be charged with performing an immoral act in public under the Criminal Code.”

The unnerving scenes mirror those captured in HBO/Sky Atlantic fantasy drama Game of Thrones which saw Lena Headey’s character, Cersei Lannister, stripped naked and forced to walk through the streets of her city after confessing to adultery.
Public shaming is not tolerated in Indonesia, however those responsible for the acts are frequently not held to account.
However one incident in 2018 saw a village chief and his accomplices sentenced to prison after wrongly accusing a young couple of engaging in sexual relations out of wedlock.
