Woman left red-faced as £100 birthday cash tied to helium balloon flies away

A Scots woman that was gifted a balloon with £100 tied to it was gutted after the cash literally fly away.

Nikki Walker was celebrating her 37th in Glasgow when the birthday blunder turned into a viral hit, the Daily Record reports.

She had been enjoying a BBQ with close family in Pollok when her mum Carol Walker, 69, gifted her a balloon with a streamer of tenners attached to it.

But when Nikki opened the box, the balloon escaped, flying off into the distance leaving the pair shocked.

She said: "There were £100 in £10 notes attached to the balloon, it is just my luck.

"My sister came over to the family barbecue with my gifts and gave me the balloons.

"She said that one needs opening and I just opened right away and it flew right out the box.

"I can’t stop laughing about it now but it is my poor we mammy I’m thinking about now.

"She’s seeing the funny side also and saying it would only happen to me.

"I’m just wanting to know how far it has travelled.

"I was going to use my birthday money as spending money for my trip to Loch Long on Tuesday."

Kind Scots have created a Go Fund Me to get Nikki her birthday cash back after taking pity on her unfortunate incident.

Luckily she sees the funny side and can't believe peoples reaction to her birthday blunder.
