Prince William and Kate Middleton have been “sending secret messages” to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle with their recent behaviour, a royal expert has claimed.
Earlier this month, the Duke of Cambridge condemned racism directed at black English players after the heartbreaking final against Italy.
Royal author Duncan Larcombe believes he and his wife are making a statement.
He told Closer: “William and Kate are definitely on the charm offensive right now – and it’s working.
“While William has always spoken out against racism, his statement this time was really powerful and especially relevant after Harry and Meghan’s accusation about the royal family.
“William and Kate have kept a dignified silence but now they’re letting their actions do the talking.
“It’s almost as if they’re sending a secret message to Harry and Meghan saying, ‘We’re going to keep going, we’re still here, we’re not backing down, we’re carrying on’.
“It’s a message to Harry that life continues – with or without him.”
During the couple’s bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey, Harry claimed that his brother and dad Prince Charles were still “trapped” in the monarchy.

The Cambridges are now “determined to show that isn’t the case”, Mr Larcombe claims.
Some social media users were unmoved by William’s recent statement on racism.
One Twitter user responded: “You have the ability to condemn racism – not just in soccer – but when it's directed at your own family members.
“Please use that power. It would speak volumes.”
Another added: “Now one for your sister-in-law. We’ll wait…”
A third simply said: “Good. Now do that for Meghan Markle."
However, others praised William for his statement and leapt to the duke’s defence.
One posted: “You are the most exemplary family I know. Keep on doing everything right.”
During her interview with Oprah, Meghan claimed that a senior royal hadexpressed concerns about how dark Archie’s skin would be.
William was the first royal to publicly comment on the allegations, insisting that the royals were “very much not a racist family”.
The Queenlater issued a statement, calling the issues “concerning”.
However, Her Majesty also said that “some recollections may vary”.
