Wheat Ridge police seek help in identifying shooter who killed juvenile

Wheat Ridge police are asking people who live near Panorama Park to check their surveillance videotape for any sign of a disturbance that led to the shooting death of a juvenile male early Monday.

Police said they believe the events leading to the boy’s death started at the park so they are asking residents who may have seen the incident between 11 p.m. Sunday to 1 a.m. Monday to come forward, said a Wheat Ridge police tweet.

Anyone living between Harlan Street and Sheridan Boulevard from West 29th to 38th avenues could have surveillance video that may help their homicide investigation, according to the tweet.

The name of the victim has not been released.

Wheat Ridge police who responded to a car crash at midnight Monday found a juvenile male fatally shot and another injured male inside the vehicle. The crash happened at 33rd Avenue and Chase Street.

The injured male was taken to a hospital for treatment. His current condition has not been released.
