Drivers can expect periodic traffic stops east of Dumont on Interstate 70 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, May 25, and Wednesday, May 26.
Crews are working to eliminate potential safety hazards on the highway by removing loose rocks off the mountain slope.
Motorists should plan for a potential 30 minute delay while crews remove the rocks.
Tamara Rollison, CDOT communications manager, said that this is routine work given previous dangerous rock falls.
“This is just to take care of any loose debris that may be on that rock face,” Rollison said. “We hope to get all the work done in one day, but we say two days.”
Rollinson said there will be no traffic impacts during the upcoming Memorial Day holiday.
