The Queen is 'fading away before our very eyes', according to a worried royal expert.
Following the release of images last Thursday (June 16) of Her Majesty meeting Margaret Beazley, the Governor of New South Wales in Australia, royal commentator Daniela Elser said her appearance was "concerning".
Elser compared the images to snaps of the Queen taken exactly one year before, when she was wearing the same yellow dress and meeting Scott Morrison, then Australian Prime Minister.

Writing for news.com.au, Elser noted how the Queen, 96, appeared 'more stooped' much thinner and to have 'shrunk'.
She said: "How did things get so bad, so fast? How in a year have we seen the Queen gone from riding horses, walking her dogs and driving her Range Rovers to her now reportedly using a wheelchair on occasion?
"What Thursday’s photo shows is that Her Majesty would appear to be fading away before our very eyes and yet Buckingham Palace is trying to stick to their increasingly tired ‘nothing to see here’ line."
Elser also expressed concern over the Queen missing what were 'previously non-negotiable events'.
Notably, in May she bowed out of the State Opening of Parliament for the first time in nearly 60 years, with the Palace citing 'episodic mobility problems' and Prince Charles stepping in.
Charles also took over from his mum on Maundy Thursday in April, a month after she pulled out of the Commonwealth Day service.

Recently, the Queen was a no-show at St Paul's Cathedral for the service of thanksgiving during her Platinum Jubilee Celebrations.
Last week she missed Royal Ascot for the first time in 70 years, despite entering more than 10 horses across the five days.
Elser did note one positive despite her worries, adding that the Queen appears to be in "excellent spirits" as she prepares to visit Balmoral for the summer.
