Vladimir Putin is rumoured to have forced his sex-crazy gymnast lover to have an abortion.

Olympic gold medallist Alina Kabaeva, 39, is thought to have already given birth to at least three of the Russian despot's children.

In May, the General SVR Telegram channel claimed that Kabaeva – who was once described as "full of sex" by Russian photographer Mikhail Korolov – was pregnant with another.

Yesterday (Wednesday, September 15) another post on the channel stated that Putin, 69, considered the pregnancy "untimely" and insisted it was terminated.

The abortion and a fallout between the lovers are supposedly the reasons why Kabaeva has gone into hiding.

She was last seen in public in June in St Petersburg.

The post on the channel read: "We already talked at the beginning of May this year that Alina Kabaeva was pregnant, and after the sex of the unborn child became known, we reported that Putin and Kabaeva would soon have a girl.

"But Russian President Vladimir Putin considered Kabaeva's pregnancy untimely, and the birth of another, unplanned child, undesirable.

"As a result, relations between Putin and Kabaeva worsened.

"And at the end of August, the president insisted that Alina have an abortion, despite the fact that the pregnancy was already more than 20 weeks and there were no medical and social indications for abortion.

"After the abortion, complications arose and for some time Kabaeva could not appear in public.

"By order of Russian President Vladimir Putin, thousands of women and children are being killed [in Ukraine], whose fate is indifferent to him.

"But he also wanted to spit on people close to him, including his common-law wife and children."

General SVR is an anonymous Telegram channel apparently run by a former Russian Foreign Intelligence Service lieutenant general, who goes by the alias Viktor Mikhailovich.

It claims posts are "written by retired and active members of the intelligence and secret services of several countries". The channel often shares nuggets of Kremlin gossip, although they are extremely hard to verify.

Last weekend, Kabaeva refused a request from her mentor Irina Viner to attend a gala in Moscow.

Putin has never confirmed his relationship with Kabaeva, but his officials' constant denials aren't thought to hold much weight in Russia.

In addition to Kabaeva's rumoured children, the Russian president has two officially acknowledged children with first wife Lyudmila Putina and one unacknowledged love child with multimillionaire Svetlana Krivonogikh, who is now the part-owner of a major Russian bank.
