Prince William and Kate Middleton have joined the Queen and Prince Charles at Windsor Castle to welcome and thank key workers at the end of their whistle-stop train tour around the country.
On the final stop of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridges’ Royal Train tour of England, Scotland and Wales, the couple paid tribute to the work of volunteers and healthcare workers in response to the coronavirus pandemic.
The Queen and Princes Charles were also in attendance, as well as Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, Anne, Princess Royal and the Earl and Countess of Wessex, Sophie and Prince Edward.
Her Majesty stood on the steps of the Equerry's entrance in Windsor castle's quadrangle surrounded by four small Christmas trees, two each side of the steps, were decorated with white lights.
A selection of Christmas carols performed by The Salvation Army Band played as the Royal Party greet a number of local volunteers and key workers from organisations and charities in Berkshire.
Her Majesty also thanked the Band and The Salvation Army for the work they are doing to help others during the pandemic and over Christmas.
Kate and Prince William were also given the opportunity to wave to residents during a visit to a care home in Bath.
The couple stepped in after learning that Cleeve Court's residents were not be able to make their usual visit to the carol service at Bath Abbey this year due to Covid-19 restrictions.
Prince William and Kate were also snapped in Cardiff toasting marshmallows together after Welsh entertainer Max Boyce, read out a beautiful poem lockdown-themed poem.

Earlier this week, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visited Scotland and were criticised for breaking Covid Tier restrictions.
The couple met ambulance staff in Newbridge and arranged for pupils at Holy Trinity First School to be treated with a festive visit from three reindeer.
Prince William and Kate have been greeted with cheers throughout the trip but Royal commentators have questioned the timing of the trip as much of the UK is under Covid-fighting restrictions.
Scottish First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon, made it clear the Royal household had been warned about travel restrictions in place and reverted questions about the tour to the palace.

Despite the backlash, Downing Street said Prime Minister Boris Johnson believes William and Kate's tour, which has covered 1,250 miles over three days, was a "welcome morale boost."
A spokesman for Mr Johnson said: "The PM is delighted to see the warm reception the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have received on their hugely valuable train tour of England, Scotland and Wales.
"The tour will be a welcome morale boost to frontline workers who have done so much during the pandemic."
