Meghan Markle appeared to make a big error during her last appearance at Trooping the Colour – forcing Prince Harry to "tell her off".

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will make their first public appearance in the UK since their explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey last year for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.

But, along with Prince Andrew, they will not appear on the iconic Buckingham Palace balcony for Trooping the Colour on June 2 as they are not working members of the Royal Family.

The event marks monarch's official birthday and is one of the showpiece moments of the four-day celebrations taking place next week.

And perhaps Meghan isn't too bothered about skipping the event, given the media furore that was sparked after fans claimed she made a "mistake" during her last Trooping the Colour appearance in 2019.

A video from the balcony showed Harry looking backwards and appearing to speak to someone off camera.

The Duchess of Sussex then turned around and appeared to say something to her husband.

He then muttered something to her before she returned to face the ground.

Seconds later, she turned back again before Harry seemed to tell her to “turn around”.

Lip reader Tina Lannin confirmed the message, claiming the prince said: "No he hasn't. Oh fine. Turn around."

Meghan then composed herself and turned back around, this time sporting a straight face.

Thousands of fans spotted the moment and claimed the duo were having a classic couple's tiff.

The video quickly went viral on Twitter, after it was captioned: “Prince Harry telling Meghan Markle to turn around at Trooping The Colour.”

One fan replied: “Wow.. first time I've noticed Harry telling her off.”

But, days later, more context was given that shed more light on the incident.

The original viral clip had no sound, but the full footage showed it was just a second or so before the National Anthem starts playing.

This means there's a good chance that Harry was actually just giving Meghan a heads up that the music was about to start playing so she wasn't caught out looking the wrong way.

Instead of standing awkwardly they are actually just listening to the opening part of God Save the Queen.
