Arvada police arrested a man on suspicion of lighting trash and dumpster fires in the 7400 block of West 52nd Avenue.
Police and firefighters arrived at a fire behind a business in Arvada Marketplace on Aug. 26 and found pallets of baled cardboard in flames as well as a dumpster fire behind a nearby building, according to the Arvada Police Department.
The department’s K9 team tracked the suspect to the 7500 block of West 53rd Avenue, where he was arrested. The man also confessed to setting other recent fires in Arvada.
The fires caused property damage but no injuries, according to the department. The man was charged with arson.
Investigators believe there may be other suspects linked to fires reported in Arvada since July 23. Information can be reported to Metro Denver CrimeStoppers at 720-913-7867.
