Mr Biden, 78, joined G7 world leaders on Tuesday to discuss a host of issues related to the failed state of Afghanistan as the US scrambles to evacuate the last of its personnel before the August 31 deadline. Simon Dolan, political commentator and author of Trump: The Hidden Halo, told Express.co.uk failures of the G7 to achieve its agenda will threaten the West.
He said: “G7 leaders have failed to convince US President Joe Biden to extend the deadline for the Afghanistan evacuation mission.
“The emergency meeting, organized by Boris Johnson, in fact failed to achieve much of its threefold agenda; an extension beyond the 31 August deadline, a plan to ensure as many Afghans as possible leave Kabul, and a plan to prevent Afghanistan becoming a terrorist spawning ground that would threaten the western world.
“The reality is that Joe Biden’s chaotic and rushed withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan will have profound consequences not just for the region but the western world too.
“The move has already soured relationships with the UK, normally one of its closest allies, and Biden himself has received a well-earned hammering from across the political spectrum.”
The comments come after a heinous terror attack on Kabul city airport which claimed the lives of 13 US service personnel, over 90 Afghans and left many more injured.
The attack, claimed by terrorist splinter group ISIS-K, was the first time since February 2020 that the US suffered military casualties in Afghanistan.
The bombing has been condemned by Taliban leadership, Mr Biden and former president Donald Trump.
In a statement to the press, Mr Biden vowed to “hunt down” the militants responsible for the attack.
He said: “To those who carried out this attack, as well as anyone who wishes America harm, know this: we will not forgive.
“We will not forget. We will hunt you down and make you pay. I will defend our interest in our people with every measure at my command.”
He added: “We will not be deterred by terrorists. We will not let them stop our mission. We will continue the evacuation.”
Mr Dolan has previously told Express.co.uk the president’s “dereliction of leadership” has led to this chaotic withdrawal.

He said: “Only five weeks ago, Joe Biden proclaimed that we would not see Americans being airlifted out of Kabul by helicopter and his dereliction of leadership has seen that become reality in just over a month.
“It is time that Joe Biden demonstrated some conviction and ensured a swift and comprehensive military response is conducted in Afghanistan to protect the West and defend the people of Afghanistan from the terror and violence being wreaked by the Taliban.”
