Prince Harry looks as if he is "numb and regretful" after his bombshell Oprah Winfrey tell-all and may never want a UK return, an expert has claimed.
Duncan Larcombe, author of Prince Harry: The Inside Story, said he believes the Duke of Sussex will "regret that interview – and maybe his decision to leave the Royal Family."
The author, who spent ten years as a royal editor, told Closer magazine that the prince appears "nostalgic for his old life".
He said the Duke has a history of being "hot-headed" and used the bombshell US chat to air frustrations from his wife's experience with the Royal Family.
The expert said: "After returning home, I've no doubt he's been feeling embarrassed, regretful and awkward.
"He's now facing the consequences. I believe he'll regret that interview – and maybe his decision to leave the Royal Family."
He added: “I’ve heard Harry was feeling numb heading back to LA.
"You could see in his face at the funeral that he was torn. He didn’t think he’d have to face his family so soon – and when he did, he had mixed emotions."

It comes after Harry, 36, and Meghan Markle's tell-all chat with Oprah Winfrey sent shockwaves through Buckingham Palace.

Meghan Markle fans call Prince William and Kate 'copycats' over anniversary pics
It comes after another royal author said Prince Harry "must have known" his wife Meghan Markle would "throw Kate under the bus" during their Oprah tell-all.
Prince William may be "pretty damn cross" with his brother for not "correcting" the claims, Penny Junor claimed to the Express.
Meghan has been accused of being " beyond the pale" for naming Kate in the interview knowing she "was powerless to fight back".
In November 2018, it was reported that “Meghan left Kate in tears” over her demands for Princess Charlotte’s bridesmaids dress during a “stressful” fitting.
It was later claimed the “rift” began when Kate said the bridesmaids should follow royal protocol by wearing tights which Meghan disagreed with.
But when asked if she had made Kate cry, Meghan told Oprah: "The reverse happened. A few days before the wedding she was upset about something, pertaining to … the flower girl dresses, and it made me cry. And it really hurt my feelings.”
Kate has not spoken publicly about the interview once.
Daily Star has approached Harry's representatives for a response.
