Government unit of UFO hunters could be assembled to track alien life

A team of UFO hunters may be relaunched by the Government after a US report into alien visitors, a senior defence source claims.

The Ministry of Defence's dedicated UFO desk was disbanded in 2009 and no agency has been responsible for monitoring Britain's skies for unidentified flying objects.

But depending on the findings of a Pentagon report, into UFOs which have been renamed Unidentified Aerial Phenomena, the department could be revived.

Speaking to The Daily Telegraph, the source said: "I think that if there was enough evidence to suggest that there was something, and that we needed to do it as well as the US, then of course we'd think about it.

"We'd look at it. There's all sorts of things that we wouldn't rule out, and this would certainly be one of them."

The constantly changing nature of emerging science and technology could "suddenly open up whole new universes".

And the paper said there was a need to "identify [and] track objects in space and in our airspace".

RAF Fylingdales, on the North York Moors, which tracks objects in space, could be used to help identify the phenomena.

The US Congress will next month be given an unclassified report on evidence collected by the Pentagon's UAP Task Force, the Office of Naval Intelligence and the FBI, which Ufologists have hailed as as a watershed moment.

US Navy ships were surrounded by up to 100 UFOs over a one-month period, according to a filmmaker who has released several incredible videos of the mystery craft.

Jeremy Corbell shared new radar footage on Thursday, May 27, on his

of nine unidentified objects appearing on radar from the USS Omaha on July 15, 2019.

It follows video of a spherical craft disappearing into the ocean near the same US Navy ship.

The investigative journalist has also previously released footage of pyramid-shaped UFOs swarming the USS Russell during the same period in summer 2019.

There is a general consensus that it is just the tip of the iceberg, particularly ahead of the eagerly-anticipated Pentagon UFO report next month.

Mr Corbell told the Daily Star: "It was reported to me that there were 50 to 100 unidentified that were swarming many of the ships. Over radio they were talking back and forth and experiencing similar types of contacts," he said.

"One was hovering above, optically the same as the others.

"But it was stationary above each ship that was experiencing this and then there were a number of other UFOs performing figure of eights and circles swarming around these ships."
