Desperate Putins decision hints at preparation of war with NATO

Vladimir Putin has ordered a major shake-up of Russia’s military districts which point to plans for a future war with NATO, a Russian analyst has claimed.

The Leningrad military district borders the Baltic countries and Finland, now a NATO member, noted military analyst Yuri Fedorov.

Fedorov warned that on the back of the war in Ukraine, a military buildup between Russia and NATO along Russia’s borders is likely.

He argued that Russian hopes of building up the Leningrad region militarily will need to wait until the conflict in Ukraine is over as all the troops earmarked for the district are currently tied up in the war.

Fedorov told Agentstvo: “Russia will face an even more difficult task, because the army is battered, modern weapons are being depleted, the war has revealed a lot of weak points in the army.”
