A Russian teenager died in the early hours of her birthday after falling to her death while sneaking out from her strict dorms to buy booze, it has been reported.
The teenager identified in reports as Tatiana T, 19, was living in the dormitories of the catering college she attends in the town of Chaykovsky in south-western Russia's Perm Krai region.
Local media report that she turned 19 on 11th March and did not want to wait until the morning to buy alcohol to celebrate her birthday.
Knowing how strict the administration of the dormitory is, she did not want to risk sneaking out of the building through the main entrance after she officially turned 19 at midnight.
She reportedly decided to climb down from her fourth-floor room using a rope made of bedsheets tied together.
However, reports state the teenager only managed to drop just one floor down when the rope ripped and she plummeted to the ground.
The pain was so excruciating that Tatiana screamed, waking her neighbours up.
Onlookers immediately called an ambulance and she was taken to a local hospital in a serious condition.
Tatiana, who was studying to become a pastry chef, died in intensive care just a few hours later, according to reports.
Local media report the young woman used to say that she was a simple girl living her life.
The legal drinking age in Russia is 18.
People took to social media to pay tribute to the teenager.
One said: "I feel awful for this girl."
