PMQs LIVE: Sir Keir Starmer soars ABOVE Boris in approval polls ahead of crunch clash

The YouGov poll of 1,674 adults from May 9-10 asked how they thought Sir Keir was performing as leader. Four in 10 respondents (40 percent) said “very well” or “fairly well”, and 17 percent said “very badly” or “fairly badly”. His net approval rating of +23 is one ahead of Mr Johnson, whose net rating has fallen to +22, although more than half (57 percent) said the Prime Minister is still doing a good job.

Mr Johnson addressed the nation on Sunday evening to outline the first phase of easing lockdown restrictions that have been in place since March 23.

He urged those who cannot work from home to return to their physical workplace, while announcing unlimited outdoor exercise and the ability to sit in parks and play sports with members of your own household while following social distancing rules.

But he immediately came in for intense criticism over the confusing messages, with millions of desperate Britons unclear about the details of what had been announced.

Sir Keir was quick to attack Mr Johnson, and said his lockdown plan “raises more questions than answers”.
